Temple Trips

We have been blessed to help prepare several families to attend the temple in Hong Kong these past few months. Twenty-two members went in February and thirty-six this past month of March.

The testimonies they bear as they return from their temple experience are wonderful. As they are sealed together forever as families and do temple work for their loved ones they have a spirit about them that is faith promoting.

It is great to watch the members as they have new experiences. Things such as going up an escalator, flying on an airplane, having a washing machine and dryer, a refrigerator that makes ice, being in a big city like Hong Kong ... much different than the city of Phnom Penh.

It requires a great deal of sacrifice on the part of the members to attend the temple. Many save for years to be able to go.

Sister Kimly is a widow who lost her husband about two years ago from illness and she has had to raise her four children alone. Her son has had to drop out of school to support the little family. When her husband died, the only thing he left his family was a moto. They sold the moto but one Sunday while they were at church someone broke into their home and stole all the money they had been saving to attend the temple. They began again to save and were able to go this past February with the help of a temple assistance fund. Sister Kimly is a great example of the faith and devotion of the members who desire to have eternal families.
