Temple Trip

We saw another group off to the Hong Kong Temple on August 11. This group of 19 was accompanied by Elder and Sister Shumway from Blanding, Utah. It is always a great experience to help them prepare and to see them off at the airport. We’ve mentioned before that most of the people have not been on an airplane. It is even an adventure for them to go up the escalator at the airport. They always return with great love for one another and for the temple. They also show appreciation for the support and help they receive in preparing and attending the temple.

One of the families that went on this trip was the Samat family from TaKhmav (one of the branches to which we are assigned). We have grown to have a great love for this family. Brother Samat is a counselor in the branch presidency. They have a son currently serving as missionary in Cambodia and a daughter who is a returned missionary.

Also on this trip was Sister Sok Nay who in from the 5th branch (another of our branches). She lost her husband and 2 infant children during the Khmer Rouge period. Also her father and mother and brothers and sisters were killed during this time. She was sealed to them in the temple. In the picture she is with the NEN Pro family from the 12th branch. This family is a delight. They lost a 16 year old daughter last year and were able to be sealed as a family. Whenever we see them we get the biggest hugs from the mom.
