Chan Sokhom and Tit Daen Chan
Today and yesterday (October 10 – 11) we watched DVD’s of the General Conference held in Salt Lake City last weekend. The broadcast is sent to Asia by satellite, translated into several languages. In Cambodia the conference is viewed in each of the meeting houses in the mission. We were able to watch the conference in English.
At this conference we took some pictures of Chan Sokhum’s mother, sister and cousin. Sokhom’s mom is investigating the church. This has been a real turn around for her and has brought real joy to our friend Sokhom. He is a great young man who is working now to go on a mission. He is the Young Mens president in the 5th branch and is having a significant impact on many young people in his branch. We love him.

We also captured a picture of Chan and Nong (sisters). Chan is the 5th Branch Young Womens President. These sisters and their younger brother Odom have lived together for some time without either mother or father to watch over them. Their mom is in the United States. Chan has raised her two younger siblings … and they are doing very well. She is making a real difference in the lives of many young women.

The miracle in this event is that several months ago there were about ½ dozen youth participating in the branch. In this picture 9 of the 13 youth in the picture have been baptized within the last 6 months. (Sokhom is the young man to the far left in the picture). Sokhom and Chan are a wonderful example of how service to others makes a difference.
