The traditional process of two people getting engaged in Cambodia is that parents chose the partner for their children. In these two cases the young man went to his intended's parents [with his parents and others accompanying] to ask permission to marry. Of course, the intended's parents approved and then the planning began.
The pictures shown the traditional cambodian dress of the couples. We very much appreciated being able to attend both parties.

The couples are both delightful individuals and have great potential as leaders in Cambodia. Sophal is a strong leader and a very quiet young man. He is completing his education while working. Bolinda is in charge of the translation department at the Service Center. We have worked with Sokhom at the mission office since we arrived in Cambodia. We love Sokhom for his pleasant and humble manner. He will be attending BYU-Hawaii starting in August. Emma has been at BYU Hawaii for the past year. She is a beautiful gentle woman. We are honored to know these couples and wish the best for them.
