Changing of the Guard (Presidents)

Last week we received a new Mission President and saw the Winegars leave for home after 3 years of service. President and Sister Winegar worked very hard during their missions. They did a lot of preparation to make the transition for the new president easier. We've received a couple of e-mails since they arrived home on July 1, bragging about getting real hamburgers, chocolate, meranque and hugs from the family. The Winegars will be missed ... we have really enjoyed working with them.




President and Sister Smedley arrived on June 30. On their first day [after about 20 yours of travel] they came with us to host the Cambodian delegation from the Ministry of Cults and Religion, went to dinner with the senior couples and ... finally got to go to bed.







The next day they spent about 3 hours with President and Sister Winegar in orientation and then took them to the airport. Becoming a mission president is a daunting task. They are an outstanding couple and will do very well in this new assignment. Our task is to assist them as they become acquainted with the mission.

Both Presidents and Sisters are from Layton, Utah.

As a side note one of the best things about going to the airport to greet people or to see others off in Dairy Queen ... the only one in Phnom Penh. You can see how happy we all are to be there ... never mind the people coming and going.
