The Orphanage

One of our assignments is to visit an orphanage operated by two church members. The orphanage is located on the outskirts of town. It is in a place that is essentially impossible to get to during the rainy season. The 35 children actually had to leave during the last rainy season to live at the home of one of the ladies who operates the orphanage. The children are delightful and very loving. While we were there they performed a couple of dances for us. They also performed these at the North District Christmas program.

The Monkey Dance is very good. As you watch the children perform the dance they look just like a bunch of monkeys.

The other dance is about two giants mistreating a monkey. The monkey is rescued by his friends who subdue the giants. A great story and dance. This picture shows the monkeys as they finish off the giants.
