We are FINALLY on our way!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, we are actually off for Phnom Penh. We will leave at 9:00 p.m. tonight from Salt Lake City. The details of the flight are: Arrive at LAX at 10 pm ... leave LAX at 2:00 am ... arrive in Taipei at 6:00 am ... Depart Taipei 9:00 am ... Arrive Phnom Penh Noon (Tuesday).

We've had a wonderful two weeks at the Missionary Training Center in Provo. The 1st week was instruction on teaching about the gospel of Jesus Christ. The second week has focused on training specific to our assignment as an "office" couple. We have had several language lessons ... Bonnie is better than Kent at speaking the language. We have met several other couples and young missionaries. Some of the the couples we have met are are going to places like: Cameroon, Madagasgar, India, Peru, Chile, Mexico, Vietnam ... and others.

Life at the MTC is good. We have spend most of our time in class. In the evenings we study to prepare for the next day. On the weekend we have some free time, but have spend this time studying and going to church, etc. The food here is good and more than plentiful. Our apartment is VERY basic, but comfortable. On Wednesdays the new young missionaries arrive. This week there were about 400 who arrived. You should see the luggage for each of these missionaries. They all have their clothing and other supplies for a 2 year mission. There are about 2,000 missionaries here at the MTC. On Tuesday evenings there is a devotional and a speaker from the general authorities of the Church. These talks are excellent. Hearing all 2,000 missionaries singing "Called To Serve" is very inspiring.

This week in our "spare" time we saw Lane and Emily on Tuesday night as they were returning to Utah from Missouri. We went to the Manti Temple on Friday and visited Nephi on the way back to the MTC. On Saturday we went to Salt Lake City to see Jim, Kristi and family and then went on to Temple Square and the Family History Library.

All and all it has been a delightful time here ... but we are anxious to get to Phnom Penh. So off we go. We are anxious to teach people about the gospel of Jesus Christ.
