We were able to go with the puppeteers to two schools along the river in Kampong Cheang. Our plan was to visit one school in the morning and the other in the afternoon. But when we arrived at the first school we found that the school on the other side of the river had brought all their children across the river on boats to attend the show.

We stood on the shore as they left and prayed that they would get safely across. We were nervous about so many children in one boat, but they did not seem concerned at all.

It was a beautiful setting and we loved being with the children and youth again.

The puppet show is being conducted in a different way this year than last year. Two of the former puppeteers were hired to run the program. They are going to schools twice each week. A Senior Couple will go with them only once a month.
(A note: The puppet show program ended in March 2010 because the budget ran out. In the future the Church will provide funding to a local NGO to provide teachers of hygiene and nutrition in the villages where the children live.)
